Hi Teo and Say Hueque,

Thanks for contacting us. We are back home after traveling through beautiful Argentina!

We loved Cauquenes De Nimez the most, as the staff were very friendly and helpful. Also, the view from the dining room was fantastic! I liked the fact that on the day of our departure the local operator had taken the trouble to print out our boarding passes.
It was a nice touch and made checkin at the airport convenient. It would be nice if you could add mini-trekking on the ice on the Perito Moreno Glacier as part of the tour. We wanted to do that but found out that we did not have the time to do it.

The recipe for the Argentinean empanadas, which I miss already, is much appreciated!

Best, Angshuman

Dear Teo,

Sorry for my late reply. Your Empanda recipe was delicious. I also managed to find two wines from your list and they were very good. It brings back a lot of nice memories from my trip. I miss Argentina already. Unfortunately, I do not have a facebook or twitter account so I could not post my comments about Say Hueque on Trip Advisor through your link. I did however, write a short review for you. See below:

'I just returned from a 20 day trip to Argentina covering: Buenos Aires, Iguazu Falls, Mendoza, Bariloche, El Calafate, El Chalten, Ushuaia. All hotels and activities were booked through Say Hueque. They are the best. No missed flights and the airport transfers were always on time. All the local guides were super nice speaking perfect English. My Say Huegue guide who met me in Buenos Aires had a lot of good suggestions on interesting sites to see and kept in touch with me through my trip to make sure all my flights and hotels were OK. For the independent traveler Say Huegue is the perfect choice. They give in depth information like maps and guides but allow you to explore on your own.'

It was a trip so perfect that I will remember for a lifetime.

Thanks again for all your wonderful help.

Edwin

PS. I have already started telling my friends about Say Hueque. Maybe you will be receiving some inquires soon. :)

We had a wonderful time on our Say Hueque itinerary

Hi Teo,

Thanks for everything. Our flight to Germany was uneventful and we're now in the town of Heidelberg.

We had a wonderful time on our Say Hueque itinerary. Overall, I would say the most positive thing was that we really felt we could rely on you and the Say Hueque team, even when things didn't work out. It was a great comfort to be supported by such terrific customer service. We always felt like we were in good hands.

I think the only real disappointments were that a couple of the flights didn't seem to be well-coordinated with our itinerary. As you know, we missed the opportunity to do the Ushuaia boat cruise because the flight wasn't the right one (i.e. a later flight might have left more time for the cruise), and we almost had to cut short our Iguazu experience. I'm not sure why this happened, but I suspect it could have been due to us reworking the itinerary partway through the planning process with Mauro. When we use a travel agency, we do so because we don't want to have to think too hard about the details and we just want to know that somebody is making sure everything is going to work out. Having to scramble to fix these things was a little inconvenient. But as I said before, your customer service was very good at resolving these problems when they arose.

Eolo was of course the best hotel of the trip and one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. But it also cost a lot more, and frankly we expected it to be exceptional, so it wasn't really a "surprise" that it was so great. Basically Eolo was perfect, but there was one negative thing that I'll mention just so you're aware of it: For our activities booked through the hotel, they found a way to overcharge us by playing with the exchange rates: they convert costs in Argentine Pesos into costs in USD at the relatively bad exchange rate of 4 pesos per 1 USD, then give you this total in USD, and then charge your credit card in pesos, based off the USD total, at the rate of 4.7 pesos per USD. So basically they are overcharging you by 4.7/4.0 by using two exchange rates that aren't the same. I really felt like it was a bit devious and deceptive... they were a good hotel and could have just charged us a higher cost in the first place and we would have paid it... no need to be so tricky about it. Maybe they figure most guests just won't pay attention.

We generally liked all the hotels except Orquiedas (Iguazu), which we felt was a little run down and did not have very nice rooms relative to the others. Relative to our expectations, the most positive experience was the Pudu Lodge, which had excellent rooms and excellent service. We were the only guests there when we arrived and the owner went out of his way to make everything perfect for us. It was terrific. The other hotels (Tres65 in BA and La Posada in Puerto Madryn) were about what we expected (both fine places).

One comment on Puerto Madryn: If you have guests going to Punta Tombo to see the penguins, you might want to just have them stay in Trelew the first night. We drove all the way up from Trelew to Puerto Madryn after a late flight, only to turn around and drive all the way back past Trelew the next morning. It would have been much easier and saved several hours of mini-bus time to just sleep in Trelew that first night.

I hope these comments are useful. Overall we had a very positive experience and felt good about the Say Hueque services. I've attached a few of our photos so you san see the things we saw. Let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks for all your help and support during our trip.

Hello Ursula & Say Hueque,

Hello from New York! I arrived home yesterday after a wonderful trip to South America.

One of the hightlights of our trip was spending the morning in Buenos Aires with you as our guide. You were a great guide and I hope Say Hueque realizes what a great representative you are for their company. You are delightful and we really enjoyed spending time with you. Valdi was also a great driver and and he was on time for our pick up to the airport even though it was very early in the morning (4:30am).

We absolutely loved Iguazu Falls. The falls are spectacular and exceeded our expectations. What a national treasure for both Argentina and Brazil. I am so glad we visited both sides of the falls. I would tell anyone visiting Argentina or Brazil - Do not miss the falls. The falls are an absolute "must see".

We also thoroughly enjoyed our bus trip from Mendoza to Santiago. The bus was very comfortable and the scenery was amazing. We took many pictures from the bus window.

The hotels were all OK. None of them were spectacular but none of them were terrible. We didn't ask for luxury (or pay for luxury) hotels, so the hotels were what we expected. As you know, your opinion of a hotel depends a great deal on what room you were assigned. I think the specific room makes a big difference on one's opinion. All of the rooms had bad lighting. Here is my quick review of the hotels:

We loved our trip and loved the people in all three countries that we visited. Of course, we also loved the food and the wine :-) We hope that we will have a chance to visit again.

Regards,

Doreen from New York

Hello Laura and Say Hueque!

Ok, so....: Our trip was really good. The glacier trip was amazing ... as expected & you get enough time to do what you want to do. We had the extra (free) day in El Calafate & that was good because we got to explore the town & see a few sights. From there we went to Ushuaia. Both trips were great. We did a boat trip out to the lighthouse, saw a sea-lion colony & had a walk on a little island. Then our other trip, we walked up part of a mountain, through the woods, in snow boots & the walked back down to a little lodge for cake & hot chocolate...this is where the huskies were waiting for us. They took us back, which was awesome. Then you get chance to go on snowmobiles if that is something you want to do. We didn't though. After the trips, we had a day in Ushuaia to look around which was good to do.

We have only really done Buenos Aires, Ushuaia, El Calafate & Iguazu falls up to now but it has all been brilliant. Iguazu is unbelievable. We are dropping back into Argentina near the end of our time in South America to do Quebrada de Humahuaca, Salta, Mendoza & Bariloche....so I'm guessing that will all be great fun too, can't wait. Our Calafate hostal was brilliant. Really comfortable & clean. The receptionist was really helpful. We loved how it was all wooden from the outside & the inside didn't disappoint. It was great how everything (transfers, trips..etc) was covered so we didn't have to do any work. It was good to relax & just & just be taken where we needed to be. I don't think there would be anything we could say needed improving. Thank you for helping us book our trip to Patagonia, it was amazing. Chris & Jen

Argentina was a blast and Say Hueque really pulled through with their end of the bargain

Hey Teo!

Argentina was a blast and Say Hueque really pulled through with their end of the bargain.

I was nervous when I landed in Salta that no one would show up and it would turn out to be a big scam, but someone was waiting for me and was incredibly helpful and friendly in the car to the hostel. I would have to say that out of the Backpackers hostel in Salta or Posta in Purmamarca, Posta was absolutely my favorite. I was actually the only person staying in Posta that night, which made me a bit nervous at first, but it turned out to be quiet and relaxing and it was so great to have my own space.

The van on the first day was late, however (arrived at 7:45am when it was supposed to be there between 6:50-7:30am), and when I tried to call the Say Hueque number, no one knew what was going on with the reservation, which I guess meant they passed it off to Belagio, but Belagio didn't know anything either and apparenty the driver was from a whole seperate company. That was the biggest confusion for me - the fact that so many different companies were involved in the same trip, but no one knew what was actually going on. I am glad that it all worked out and I had a fantastic time.

I have attached a picture, as per your request, from the Salt Flats. Thank you for being so great with this whole trip. I wish I had more time in Argentina and South America to explore even more!

All my best,
Jennifer

I thank you for that. The whole package and all its amenities was more than its money's worth. You can rest assured that if I ever wanted to travel efficiently, cheaply and under time constraints in Argentina (perhaps the South ... ?) or Chile again I would choose Say Hueque without hesitation. Impeccable service, congratulations.

Hola Agustin and Say Hueque!

Que tal? I've already been back in London now for a few weeks, unfortunately. I can assure you that I had the greatest of times travelling the North of this wonderful country!
I met loads of amazing people and saw many awesome sights in Argentina. I had the best vacation ever, that's for sure! The only problem was that I didn't have enough time. And money, I guess. Well, that's almost everyone's problem in this world though, isn't it. ^^

Pretty much everything went very smoothly, and when there were hitches, they got sorted out quickly and without fuss. I thank you for that. The whole package and all its amenities was more than its money's worth. You can rest assured that if I ever wanted to travel efficiently, cheaply and under time constraints in Argentina (perhaps the South ... ?) or Chile again I would choose Say Hueque without hesitation. The nicest, most relaxing and luxurious place I stayed at was the Posta de Purmamarca, as it is more of a kind of getaway lodge for couples. However I think the best place I stayed were the two nights in Salta, in the Hostal La Linda. I met loads of fantastic people there, and had great parrilla and party!

It's very difficult for me to find anything negative about any of the journey ... although I'd have to comment that my "worst" experience in general was with La Veloz de Norte bus company, as first they were on strike and had me rebook a service, and the return from Salta to Buenos Aires was in a much older, crummier bus that didn't even include meals and stopped far too often (all the other bus company's services were impeccable).

In any case, I had an unforgettably lovely time with lots of great stories to tell.

All the best, take care.

cheers!
Chris, UK
