Day 1

Welcome to your day tour to Iguazú Falls from Buenos Aires

Iguazu Falls waterfalls

  • Transfer from Puerto Iguazú airport to Iguazú Falls National Park, Argentine side.

Upon arrival, you will be met at the airport (or bus station) by our driver and bilingual local guide. We will pick you up and drive you to the National Park, on the Argentinian side,  a 7-hour excursion where you will experience the true power of Iguazú falls. We highly recommend that you don’t take any luggage with you, in order to be able to leave the airport more quickly.

The small border town of Puerto Iguazú is the gateway to visit the impressive Iguazú Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage site, making it a must-see destination for any traveler visiting Argentina.

  • Wander Iguazú Falls National Park

The falls are surrounded by a humid subtropical forest where the exuberant vegetation is home to many different animals and birds. Our guide will help you spot some of them: ant birds, toucans, manakins, parrots, coatis, just to name a few of the most common birds. Lower and upper walkways weave in and around falls permitting up close and personal experiences with this magnificent spectacle of nature. The Argentinian side of the falls is filled with a myriad of paths and walkways and stairways which allow you to have an experience from many different perspectives. You will have the chance to meet “The Devil’s throat”: the largest of the falls and for many the most spellbinding. To get to the “Devil’s throat” you take the ecological train and then walk out along boardwalks. After walking and taking pictures of animals and plants to take a memory of your day-trip to Iguazú Falls from Buenos Aires, you will have some free time to eat lunch in this amazing environment.

  • The end of your day tour in Iguazú Falls, transfer to the airport

At the end of this once-in-a-lifetime day-tour to Iguazú Falls from Buenos Aires, you will be driven to the airport (or bus station).

Say Hueque Tips

  •  Where to eat lunch?

If you want to eat during the Iguazú Falls day tour we recommend the area called “Patio de servicios”, in every station of the ecological train and in the bar “Dos hermanas” (Two sisters). There are also two restaurants: “La selva” (The jungle) and “Fortin Cataratas” (Bunker Cataratas) which close around 3 pm. We recommend to grab a quick meal, take the time and find a peaceful spot to enjoy your first meal in the jungle.

  • Would you love to have a “Great Adventure”?

If you feel really adventurous, we recommend that you add on the “Gran Aventura” tour. Take an open air jeep through the rainforest and then a zodiac open air boat ride up the river to the base of the falls (there is a 100% chance that you will get soaking wet on this boat trip, the falls provide a refreshing “natural shower”. Be sure to take some extra clothes if you want to do this excursion, although each person will be provided with a dry bag once on the boat. There is also approximately a 150 mts. staircase down and then back up to get to/from the boat dock).

  • Am I close to the airport?

Yes, indeed, so don’t be worried about timing! Check out the map to get an overall idea of distances in Iguazú.

  • What should I wear?

Comfortable is the word you’re looking for! Comfortable walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen and insect repellent.

If you would like to explore more of Iguazú we recommend that you take a look at our day tours and our Iguazú Falls Travel Guide where you will find all the information you need and more practical tips.
